Chief Financial Officer of VCU Health System
Before assuming the Chief Financial Officer role, Siegel served as Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis for the health system. He joined VCU Health in April 2020, focusing on optimizing the enterprise’s financial performance, guiding internal and external strategic decision making and leading the system’s quarterly financial forecast update, as well as its long-term financial planning process. Before joining VCU Health, Siegel was Vice President of Finance and Budget with Virginia Premier, where he drove significant improvement across finance operations. Prior to that, he spent 18 years holding increasingly progressive finance and operational leadership roles with Bon Secours. Overall, he has more than 29 years of health care finance, audit accounting and operations experience, which includes working with KPMG, LLP, as well as the Virginia State Auditor’s Office. His leadership experience includes honorable service as a non-commissioned officer in the United States Army, serving in both Europe and Southwest Asia theaters. A native of Virginia, Siegel received his Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Longwood College, graduating cum laude. He is a licensed certified public accountant (CPA) in Virginia, as well as a certified internal auditor (CIA) and a Juran-certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
